Finding great employees is like the housing market here in the Seattle area. Low inventory, everyone is vying for the same one and paying a large price to get the one you want. As an entrepreneur myself I know how important it is to have a good team to work with. When you have created that awesome team to assist you in producing and growing your business, how do you keep them?
“Only 3% of Employers offer Concierge Services”
(by: 2016 SHRM Benefits Survey)
Here in the U.S. we are living and working very fast-paced lives. The traditional employee benefits are health, dental, time-off, 401k’s, etc.… these benefits are great but are they enough to retain great employees? Now employers can add Concierge Services as a benefit to their employees. The employer hires their own concierge company to coordinate the services in the same manner as a hotel does for its guests.
The cost of the service is paid for by the employer and the actual service expenses (i.e. groceries, dry cleaning or other items) are paid by the employee. If the employer chooses to reimburse or provide vouchers for the services themselves, the value of the benefit would become taxable income to employees and would need to be reported on their W-2 forms. Employer, consult your tax professional about the taxable benefits of an employer/employee concierge services benefit.
The true benefit to the employee is to support them with a work\personal life balance as well as time-saving and stress reducing. For the employer, it allows their employees to be more focused, productive and happy at work.
If you are an employer weighing the costs and value of employee benefits? Consider adding Concierge Services to your employee benefits package. Your employees and potential employees will be grateful that you care not just about the bottom-line, but about them as well.
